Since the Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery opened last year, the hotel has stocked its guestroom honor bars with Old New Orleans Rum. Now, in honor of the Old New Orleans Rum’s 20th Anniversary, the hotel and rum-maker are partnering to offer guests the opportunity to go beyond sipping spirits in their guestrooms and get up close-and-personal with the distillery process.
Those who book the Rum Runners package will enjoy overnight accommodations at The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery where they’ll enjoy a chilled bottle of Gingeroo, a bottled rum cocktail starring Old New Orleans Rum’s light-bodied Crystal rum, and a guided tour for two through the Old New Orleans Rum distillery. During the tour, package guests will be introduced to the distilling, fermenting and filtering process behind making the artisanal spirits. Then, they’ll visit the Tasting Room where they’ll be treated to a specialty cocktail and taste each of the rums produced by the distillery. This tasting will include Old New Orleans Rum’s 20th Anniversary Blend “King Creole” Rum which has been rated 96 points by the Beverage Testing Institute for its creamy aromas and flavors of chocolate maple nut fudge, spicy fruit chutney, honey vanilla bean gelato, and copper with a silky, vibrant, fruity light-to-medium body and a tingling, long vanilla buttercream and cola, tiramisu, pink pepper, and minerals finish.
